Here at Abbeywood we don't just have a Registered Manager but also a 2nd Manager with 20 years experience, just to make sure our home is run as professionally and efficiently as possible and the 4 owners are on hand only a couple of miles away!

ABBEYWOOD is set in half an acre of private, tranquil,

wooded grounds only a few minutes walk away from the

quaint village of Tottington, which is on the fringe of open countryside.

 
 

Abbeywood has undergone a complete refurbishment and restoration programme with no expense spared.

 Providing a Fine Quality Home for the Elderly,

 Tastefully and elegantly furnished throughout with that touch of class.

  

 
  It now has the benefit of retaining its old character and providing up to date, purpose-built accommodation for the elderly. Elegantly furnished and decorated with that classical period look, numerous beautiful chandeliers add together to give the ambience of a five-star hotel.

 

  

 
  Caring for you're loved ones in their later years is something the proprietors and professional staff at Abbeywood know all about. They actively encourage families to continue the bond and contact they had with their relative when they previously lived in their own home.  

 
   

They realise the importance of promoting social activities therefore various optional outings and entertainment are arranged throughout the year.
In-house activities are produced daily, including exercises, bingo, dominoes and floor skittles.


Residents can enjoy a pleasant stroll through the landscaped garden with an area reserved for the green-fingered. In the summer months there may even be barbecues.


We have been providing care in our sister home  since 1988 (Now sold) and will continue with the same emphasis on quality of care in our only transformed home for the elderly.

  • Our main objective is to recognise the greatest need of residents, namely self-fulfilment, while at the same time endeavouring to provide the highest standards of care while maintaining residents' dignity and independence.
  • Residents are encouraged to personalise their room with pictures, paintings or even small furniture can be accommodated. Residents are encouraged to pursue their own hobbies and interests.
  • We can offer Residents permanent long term, short-term respite care, a place to convalesce where you will find well appointed bedrooms, mainly all have en-suite facilities.
  • We provided a choice of meals are  of high quality from a full English Breakfast (if so required) to Supper in the dining room and beverages are available 24 hours a day.
  • Our social and entertainment are quite extensive and includes many trips out along with a calendar of varies forms of entertainment through out the year.

Hello Everyone…

We’d like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves. Our Names are Bill & Ben and we are the activity co-ordinators at Abbeywood. We’d like to give you an insight into the type of activities and events that we run here at the home.

Our Philosophy is that our residents can choose to do as much or as little as they wish in order to keep themselves entertained, happy and healthy. We run a wide range of activities and frequently celebrate different occasions some of which are listed below:

> Crafts
> Dominoes
> Bowls
> Karaoke 		> Birthdays
> Easter
> Halloween
> Valentines
> Christmas


We also encourage light exercises for the residents to take part in at their leisure with their health and well being in mind. We like to bring in entertainers in regularly for the enjoyment of the residents. For a change of scenery we like to go out on trips and excursions throughout the year.

Not everybody likes to fully join however, some prefer a quiet cup of tea, coffee and a pleasant chat. We believe this is just as important in keeping the residents in high spirits at Abbeywood.We have worked here for over 6 years and formed close friendships with many our residents. What makes us happy is just seeing smiles on their faces.

Our Laundry Equipment is supplied and maintained by JLA.


A revolutionary laundry system which kills all bacteria on all wash cycles  has been developed by JLA.

 The OTEX system works by injecting ozone into the wash process and kills all Super bugs – including so-called Superbugs such as MRSA and C. diff – on all wash cycles.

 The OTEX System is now in many Hospitals around the country and we are one of the few homes that have invested in this expensive equipment.
